MUSE: LIGHT FOR CORONA MUSIC MAKERS
When the coronavirus hit and paralyzed practically the entire event and cultural sector, the South Ostrobothnian company decided to invite a band from Seinäjoki to make music. A delicate and melodic Musewas born : a single released on Spotify on 5 April. The song has also been made into a music video.
"The cultural and music media are in serious distress due to the pandemic. It is easy for me to identify with the position of the authors, as I have worked in the music industry and as an event organiser myself for more than ten years. I started to think about how our company could help the perpetrators in this very challenging situation for everyone. Hopefully, the song we order will be liked," says Ceo Jukka Asp from KVS Lighting Design Ltd.
Jukka threw down a challenge to Terhi Tikkamäki and his band ENNE. Terhi has previously made music under the stage name Zerafia.
"ENNE has now released 7 singles in a couple of years, some of them with music videos. Just as the band got up to speed with the sale of the gigs, the corona hit. The cooperation proposed by KVS Oy came as a godsend. We are extremely grateful and very pleased about this opportunity. We look forward to seeing what kind of reception the fruit of our cooperation will receive," Terhi says.
"Jukka wanted the song's words to be multidimensional. We agonize over the text for a long time.
KVS specialises in demanding lighting solutions and electricity as well as wholesale business in the field.
"The object of this song, muse, can be seen as any source of creativity: light, music or the object of romantic love. The last verse sings about challenges and not giving up in front of them. This guideline applies not only to the process of creation, but also to the time we are living in now, Terhi thinks.
Art or culture can be acquired in other ways than buying tickets to events. All parties now need will, creativity and a desire to try. Just a few thousand euros can cost a record or other work, for example, and at the same time support those who make them.
"I am therefore throwing out a challenge to all entrepreneurs: let's aim for creativity and consider how we can help each other through these demanding times," Jukka Asp encourages.
