The stylish lighting at Casa Onnenkivi adapts to the rhythm of the day
At the Casa Onnenkivi single-family home exhibit at the 2026 Housing Fair, lighting is a prominent part of the interior design, yet it also forms a carefully planned, functional whole. Stunning decorative fixtures, indirect lighting, and task lighting come together to form a cohesive whole that serves the home’s various spaces and situations.
It's the details that make the whole
The various rooms at Casa Onnenkivi feature a wide variety of light fixtures and light sources. However, the materials, shapes, and shades of light have been chosen to ensure that the overall look remains cohesive. The kitchen, hallway, and accent lighting on the walls feature striking bulbs from Creative Cables’ Ghost series. Their unique shape makes the light source a visible part of the interior design.
The sleek Creative Cables Flex 30 wall sconces with Mini GU10 spotlights were chosen as the reading lights for the bedrooms. The adjustable light can be directed toward the reading area without having to brightly illuminate the entire room. The same Flex series is also featured in the bedroom’s ceiling light.
In the bathroom, decorative light fixtures in warm tones and Carbon Line bulbs—whose filaments twist into a striking spiral—create a cozy atmosphere. The Ghost bulb mounted on the ceiling is also visible in the space through the mirror.
Was the ceiling light the most popular item at the fair?
Alongside the Ghost light fixture, one of Casa Onnenkivi’s most eye-catching lighting solutions can also be found on the bathroom ceiling. Zumtobel’s SUPERSYSTEM integral lighting system is installed so that it blends almost seamlessly into the ceiling surface. Despite its compact design, it provides the space with effective and even general lighting, and it is available in several different colors. For Casa Onnenkivi, a stylish black-copper finish that harmonizes with the interior design was chosen. The luminaire is also available in several versions, such as for recessed, surface, and track mounting.
Well-being Through People-Centered Lighting
The lighting at Casa Onnenkivi utilizes a human-centric lighting (HCL) solution, which is implemented using Casambi lighting control. The lighting adapts to the circadian rhythm and promotes well-being by automatically adjusting the color temperature and brightness of the light throughout the day.
In the morning, the lighting is brighter and cooler, which promotes alertness and helps you get the day started. As the evening progresses, the light gradually becomes warmer and softer, creating a peaceful atmosphere and helping your body prepare for rest.
At Casa Onnenkivi, the HCL feature is utilized particularly in indirect lighting. The decorative fixtures focus on creating ambiance and striking design, and they use light sources with a fixed color temperature.
