Purchasing, Shipping, and Requests for Proposals

Can a business customer place an order with KVS Store and pay by invoice?

Yes. A business customer can register as a KVS Store customer. Once the business account has been approved, products can be ordered from the online store via invoice through the company’s customer account.

How do I place an order on the KVS Store?

Select the products you want from the KVS Store, add them to your shopping cart, and proceed to checkout. Fill in the required order and shipping information, and confirm your order at checkout. Business customers can register as customers and, once their business account has been approved, also order products on account.

If you are ordering a larger quantity, working on a project, or need help selecting products, please contact KVS Sales before placing your order.

When should I ask the seller for a quote?

It’s worth requesting a quote for projects, larger orders, Casambi/DALI control systems, LEDCUT, special profiles, custom-made solutions, or projects that require lighting design.

You can find the brands represented by KVS at: https://kvsoy.fi/brandit

If you can't find the product you need in the KVS Store, but it's part of the product line of one of the brands we represent, you can request a quote from our sales team.

When can I buy the product directly from the online store?

If it is a single stock item, accessory, standard product, connector, profile, strip, or component available at KVS Store.

Can I just ask about the price by email?

Oh, but the fastest way to check prices for in-stock items is to look them up on KVS Store. For project orders, it’s best to send us the quantities, photos, plans, or other relevant information.

Where can I check a product's availability?

Product availability is indicated in the KVS Store by a color-coded availability bar:

  • Green = good availability

  • Orange = low stock

  • Red = the product is out of stock

For project-specific products, larger quantities, or rush orders, please check availability with KVS Sales.

Casambi and Lighting Control

What is Casambi?

Casambi is a wireless lighting control system that allows you to control lights, LED strips, relays, buttons, and sensors via a Bluetooth Mesh network.

Check out Casambi products at the KVS Store.
KVS Store has a dedicated main category for Casambi lighting control, which includes DALI control units, dimmers, relays, switches, sensors, and gateways.

When is Casambi a good solution?

Casambi is particularly well-suited for renovation projects, small- and medium-sized projects, spaces where the goal is to minimize cabling, and projects that require flexible deployment and adaptability.

Can DALI lights be controlled with Casambi?

Yes, with the appropriate Casambi DALI control devices. The solution depends on whether a DALI Broadcast, DALI-addressable, or DALI bus-fed solution is required.

Check out the Casambi DALI control units at KVS Store and read more about this topic in this article.

Can Casambia be used with motion sensors?

Yes. You can connect sensors, timers, and scene controls to the Casambi system.

What is the difference between Casambilla and DALI?

DALI is a wired lighting control bus. Casambi is a wireless control system. Both can also be used together.

Does Casambi require a central unit?

In small and medium-sized installations, Casambi operates without a separate control center, as the devices form a network among themselves. Remote access and certain additional features may require separate solutions.

LED strips, profiles, and power supplies

How long can a 24-volt LED strip be with a single power supply?

The recommended length depends on the strip's power rating, voltage, copper thickness, and acceptable voltage drop. For longer runs, it is recommended to use multiple power supply points or a 48-volt LED strip.

When should you choose a 48-volt LED strip?

The 48 V LED strip is suitable for longer, continuous runs where the goal is to reduce voltage drop and the number of power supplies.

What is the difference between IP20, IP65, and IP67 tape?

IP20 is suitable for dry indoor environments. IP65 and IP67 are better suited for damp, dusty, or splash-prone locations. The final choice depends on the installation location.

Why is it a good idea to install LED strips in aluminum profiles?

The aluminum profile improves heat management, protects the strip, facilitates installation, and adds a finishing touch to the appearance. The diffuser evens out the light spots and protects the strip.

How do I choose the right power supply for an LED strip?

First, calculate the total power of the LED strip: length × W/m. It’s a good idea to leave about 20% of the power capacity in the power supply so that it isn’t constantly operating at maximum load.

In addition, when selecting a power supply, you should consider the operating voltage of the LED strip—for example, 24 V or 48 V—as well as the required dimming method and control system, such as Casambi or DALI.

What do CCT, CRI, and kelvin mean?

CCT indicates the color temperature of light, CRI indicates the quality of color rendering, and the Kelvin value indicates whether the light is warm, neutral, or cool. Learn more about these key concepts here.

LEDCUT and Custom Solutions

What is LEDCUT?

LEDCUT is a KVS service that allows LED strips, profiles, wiring, and necessary components to be customized according to the dimensions and requirements of your project. LEDCUT products are designed in collaboration with the KVS sales team. Please contact us!

When should you choose LEDCUT?

When you want to speed up installation, reduce on-site adjustments, improve the quality of the final result, or create repeatable installations—for example, in hotels, apartments, stores, or furniture.

What information is needed for an LEDCUT quote?

At a minimum, we need the dimensions, installation location, desired light color, profile type, dimming method, IP rating, wiring direction, and any photos or drawings.

Can Casambi control be integrated with LEDCUT?

Yes. LEDCUT systems can be integrated with Casambi control, DALI control, or any other control method suitable for the application.

DALI, Control and Connectors

When is a DALI ballast needed?

A DALI ballast is required when you want to connect a light fixture or LED strip to a DALI control system.

Can LED strips be controlled using DALI?

Yes. An LED strip can be controlled using a DALI-dimmable power supply or a DALI controller, depending on the type of strip and the control method.

See DALI Power Supplies

What is the difference between a constant-current and a constant-voltage power supply?

Constant-voltage power supplies are typically used for LED strips, such as 24 V or 48 V. Constant-current power supplies are typically used for LED modules and fixtures.

Which dimming method should I choose?

The choice depends on the application: Casambi, DALI, 1-10 V, phase dimming, push-button control, or DMX/RGBW control. If needed, KVS can help you choose the right control method.

Designers and Project Sites

Can KVS help with lighting design?

KVS can assist with product selection, control solutions, LED strip and profile systems, and, if necessary, arranging lighting calculations.

What information should I include in a project proposal?

Floor plan, lighting fixture list, cross-sections, drawings, bill of materials, preferred method of control, target schedule, installation environment, and any special requirements.

Can KVS offer an alternative to the light fixture included in the plan?

Yes. We need information on the original product, including quantities, installation method, luminous flux, color temperature, optics, IP rating, control system, and other critical requirements.

Can KVS help replace the old light fixtures in a renovation project?

Yes. We need photos of the old light fixtures, their dimensions, the installation method, the current control system, the intended use of the space, and any plans.

Warranty, Liability, and Technical Limitations

What is the warranty on these products?

The warranty varies depending on the product and manufacturer. Product-specific warranty information is provided in the product details or in the offer.

Does the warranty cover improper installation?

The warranty generally does not cover defects resulting from improper installation, incorrect wiring, overloading, an incorrect power source, or use that violates the operating conditions.

Can these products be used outdoors?

Only if the product’s IP rating, design, and the manufacturer’s instructions are suitable for outdoor use. For outdoor applications, humidity, temperature, UV radiation, mechanical stress, and the installation method must be taken into account.
